In January 2002, an interdisciplinairy project started at the Free University of Brussels on Class in the Duchy of Brabant from the late Middle Ages and early modern times in collaboration with the Foundation for Scientific Research of Flanders and the University of Antwerp.
The subject is the archaeological glass from the Late Middle Ages and early modern times of several important cities of Brabant such as Antwerp, Mechelen, Brussels, Breda and 's-Hertogenbosch. The archaeological remains are selected under aspects of their scientific, archaeological, stratigraphical, chronological, historical and socio-economical information. The direct aim is to create a typo- chronological instrument in order to facilate the study and the knowledge of the archaeological artefacts in hollow glass.
