The main goal of this paper is represented by the evaluation of the settlement in the Salinae area from Late Antiquity to the end of the Middle Ages. 

Notwithstanding the fact that few archaeological evidence has yet been unearthed, different written sources prove the importance of the Salinae in the early part of the Middle Ages. In fact, it was a fertile area and important people lived there.
