Although archaeological study of Moscow's historical topography is just taking its first steps - it becomes evident that medieval Moscow appeared to be neither the Third Rome, nor the Second Constantinople, nor the New Jerusalem. Nevertheless, she is one of the youngest capitals of the Christian world and deserves a scholarly approach.
